Coral ecosystems make up less than 1% of the ocean bottom but generate over 75% of the planet’s Oxygen. Saving coral should be everyone’s highest priority. DWP-CARES is a citizen science-based initiative designed to train scuba divers in coral ecosystem monitoring to document the effects of global climate change. Our monitoring efforts will aid legislators and scientists in determining the best course of action to save our ocean habitat. If you would like to contribute to our climate change initiative please donate generously. If you would like to participate in our coral monitoring effort or establish an effort in your area, please contact us at cares@divingwithapurpose.org about our next training course.
With the help of donations from supporters like you, we can offer free trainings to youth in our Youth Diving With a Purpose (YDWP) program; we can fund new trainings in Costa Rica; we can train community dive monitors on Ilha de Mocambique (Mozambique Island) to protect submerged resources; and much more. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. So your donation is tax deductible. Thank you for supporting our work! And thank you to the below past (and present) supporting organizations. We couldn’t have gotten this far without you!
We did it! We raised $93,740 of our $100,000 goal and used the funds to build and dedicate a memorial to the Tuskegee Airmen who perished in accidents in the Port Huron, Michigan area during WWII.
