President
My name is Gregory Hood and I was born and raised in Cleveland Ohio. I attended Saint Ignatius High School and my favorite sport was rowing. I also enjoyed band and speech and debate. I have been a part of YDWP for 5 years and have a love for the ocean and everything in it. I am currently attending the Ohio State University and I am pursuing a double major in Psychology and Aviation Engineering. I have always had an interest in marine biology and through programs like CARES, I can learn more about our underwater environments. My interests are boxing, lifting, reading, and spending time in nature whenever I can.
Vice President
Robert Visty III Is YDWP Robert Visty, AKA “Bo”. is 18 years old and a senior at St. John Bosco Highschool .
He is a science major, planning on studying marine invertebrate zoology in college. He started diving three years ago and this summer will be his second year at YDWP. DWP originally caught his interest because it was an opportunity to do real research that has an impact while doing hands on conservation and enjoying the comradery of my fellow young scientists. He is looking forward to contributing my time and energy to furthering our goals, restoring our oceans, and protecting our heritage.
YDWP Recording Secretary,
Anumí Sassaroli Oriana was born and raised in Puerto Viejo, a little town on the south Caribbean coast of Costa Rica. She finished high school homeschooling with an American program called GED, this allowed me to keep living in Puerto Viejo where I became a part of Embajadores del Mar and started working with them. I developed my love for the ocean and this is why when I finished high school I knew that I wanted to keep working with the ocean and make it a career. At the beginning of 2022, I moved to Buenos Aires, Argentina because the career I wanted to study was at the University of Buenos Aires (UBA). The career of my choice was Physical Oceanography which is the study of all aspects of the ocean but in this case using the laws of physics we study ocean circulation, water properties, mass formation, waves, etc. My goal for the future is to make a difference in my community and to learn to protect our oceans the best way we can. I want to be part of the change, and this was the route that I found.
